Technical/ Research  Experience:  During my previous services in Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) and Bangladesh Bureau Of Statistics (B.B.S.), I was involved in a teamwork in preparing   questionnaire, selecting   samples,  analyzing as well as summarizing  data  and also in  report writing.


 Worked as Statistician and computing resource person of Statistics in a Survey project on “Chittagong Hill Tract Peace treaty” jointly conducted by Political Science department, CU and a professor of USA University and was later published as a book in USA. Besides I was involved as Statistician for drafting questionnaire, sample selection, data collection and Statistical analysis in some projects of CU, UGC conducted by Professors of different departments.


 Attended an inception workshop on Assessment of human health vulnerability, health impact and adaptation to climate change in Bangladesh as a Statistical resource person organized by Institute of Epidemiology. Cholera Disease & Research (IECDR), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on April 06, 2011.


Involved in a project entitled “Risk Reduction and Adaptive Measures in the Context of Climate Change Impact on Health Sector in Bangladesh” of Health Ministry as  a resource person in data coding, analysis and some extent report writing in 2012.


Teaching/ /Adjunct faculty/ Guest speaker

 Have been teaching major courses of Statisticsincluding Regression Analysis, Multivariate analysis, Matrix Algebra, Time series & Forecasting, Economic Statistics, Advanced calculus etc in graduate and post-graduate levels in the department as well as some minor courses in different departments of Chittagong University for more than 20 years.


TaughtBusiness Statistics, Research Methodology, Operations Research at BBA, RMBA & EMBA program as a adjunct faculty  in different private university.UITS,  Chittagong. 


Lectured in various institutions on Biostatistics, Statistical Application in medical science, as  Guest  Speaker including   Workshop for the Doctors and Professors of Medical Colleges held at Chittagong Medical College (CMC) in 2006 and at University of  Science &  Technology, Chittagong, (USTC) in 2008  organized by  Bangladesh  Medical Research  Council (BMRC), Dhaka.


Research Supervision:



Supervised M.S. thesis/ projects of a good amount of students of the department.


Reviewed project report, thesis of students of different university and articles of various journal of different public universities in Bangladesh


Acted as a member of Editorial Board, Chittagong University Science Journal.

Fellowships and Awards


Awarded Junior scholarship from Dhaka Board, Jahangirnagar University Scholarship both in  B.Sc. (Honours) and M.Sc. level in Statistics.


Invited Talks and Conferences Attended:


Participated in theWorkshop on Regression methodology in Statistics at post graduate level’ held in the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Calcutta, INDIA  from February 13-22, 1995.

Attendedin several seminars and conferences in my department as well as in different universities & institutions organized by other research organizations including Bangladesh Statistical Association (BSA).
